Max Richter is a British composer and musician whose career spans classical, film and television, and contemporary music. He is known for his innovative approach to composition, blending classical, electronic, ambient and minimalist influences to create a unique sound. His music has been featured in many films, TV shows and video games, including Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, Shutter Island, and Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Richter's breakout album was Memoryhouse, released in 2002. It featured the popular single "On the Nature of Daylight," which was featured in the film Shutter Island and later covered by The Cinematic Orchestra. Other popular albums include The Blue Notebooks (2004), Three Worlds: Music from Woolf Works (2016), and his most recent album, Voices (2020).

Richter has collaborated with a variety of artists, including The Kronos Quartet, Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra, and singer-songwriter Loreena McKennitt. In addition, he has composed music for many ballets, including the Royal Ballet's Woolf Works and the Bolshoi Ballet's Frankenstein.
