Karl Böhm was a German conductor who is best known for his interpretations of the works of Richard Strauss and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He was born in 1894 in Graz, Austria, and began his musical career as a cellist before becoming a conductor.

Karl Böhm is most famous for his recordings of Richard Strauss’ operas, especially Der Rosenkavalier and Salome. He also conducted numerous recordings of Mozart’s operas, including Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, and Così fan tutte. He also conducted recordings of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 8.

One of Karl Böhm’s most notable recordings is his 1973 recording of Der Rosenkavalier, which is considered one of the greatest recordings of the opera. He also conducted a highly acclaimed recording of Don Giovanni in 1954.
