Ed Sheeran – Autumn Variations (White Vinyl)

"When I was going through a difficult time myself early last year, writing songs helped me to understand my feelings and process what was happening. So when I learned about my friends' different situations, I wrote songs again - some from their perspective, some from mine - to capture how they and I saw the world at that time. Highs like a new love or new friendships were part of it, but so were lows like heartbreak, depression, loneliness and lostness

My father and brother told me about a composer named Elgar who composed the 'Enigma Variations' in which each of the 14 compositions was about a different person from his circle of friends. That's what inspired me to make this album. When I recorded 'Subtract' with Aaron Dessner, we connected right away. We were writing or recording practically nonstop, and the album came out of that partnership. I think he captured the feeling of fall so beautifully sonically. Hopefully you guys love it as much as I do."
