Debut album by Grammy Award-winning alternative rock/pop band fun. featuring "All The Pretty Girls," "Be Calm" and "The Gambler." Shortly after his previous band The Format broke up in 2008, singer Nate Ruess formed fu with Jack Antonoff of Steel Train and Andrew Dost of Anathallo. They recorded their debut album "Aim And Ignite" at Appletree Studios with producer Steven Shane McDonald.
The album received positive reviews and was called "what a pop album should sound like" and "the most essential pop album of 2009" by AbsolutePunk, while AllMusic compared the trio to Queen and Electric Light Orchestra. The band rose to fame after the release of their second album "Some Nights" in 2012. Their second album reached number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and topped the Billboard Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It spawned three Top 20 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, of which "We Are Young" reached number one. At the 2013 55th Annual Grammy Awards, they won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for their song "We Are Young"; they also won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
