King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard – Teenage Gizzard (Gold Marble)

The band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard was founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2010. the psychedelic rockers released their debut album in 2012 and have since released 17 further studio albums, which have earned them a real standing in the scene.

in 2021, the band is now taking a look back, way back, to their beginnings. With "Teenage Gizzard", they present a collection of recordings from their early phase between 2010 and 2011, which were made before their first album "12 Bar Bruise" and their first record deal.

There are a total of ten songs on "Teenage Gizzard", which were either self-distributed or not released at all at the time. Included are three early singles, two early B-sides, four-track recordings from the band's first unofficial EP, "Angelsea", as well as a previously unreleased track. Tracks one to eight on were recorded sometime in 2010 in Angelsea, Victoria, tracks nine and ten sometime in 2011 in Carlton, Victoria, Australia.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have already achieved cult status despite their still young career. The Australians' music has developed from initial surf and garage rock to psychedelic rock and a mix of different styles, including progressive rock, folk, jazz, soul and metal. The seven-piece combo released an incredible 18 studio albums between 2010 and 2021, five of them in 2017 alone, as well as five live albums, two EPs and a compilation. With "Teenage Gizzard", a collection of rarities has now been added to the catalog.
