Tremor arrives at a time when Avery's workload seems colossal to outsiders. A producer, DJ, musician and remixer who constantly collaborates with others, he recently reinterpreted "Drone:Nodrone" by The Cure, for which he received universal acclaim.
His work as one of three members of Demise of Love (a group co-founded with Ghost Culture and Working Men's Club) is currently providing the soundtrack to the hazy, opaque edges of dancefloors around the world. The album is Avery's first release on Domino. The record is full of unexpected collaborations including: Yeule, Art School Girlfriend, Ryan from bdrmm, Yune Pinku, Cécile Believe, Walter Schreifels from Rival Schools, Julie from New Dad and Alison Mosshart.
"Tremor" was mixed partly by David Wrench and partly by the legendary Alan Moulder. It's a widescreen album where Daniel relies more than ever on instrumentation and complements these sounds with his signature dark, techno-like production. There are beautiful melodic parts, big electronic hits, heavier grunge parts and beautiful ambient moments that bring you back to calm.
