The Black Lips – Good Bad Not Evil (2xLP, Deluxe Reissue)

The fourth studio album from Atlanta punk band Black Lips is full of hedonistic anthems and celebrates its 15th anniversary. This deluxe edition includes unreleased photos and new liner notes by Jared Swilley and King Khan. The second disc contains B-sides and rarities such as "Cruising", "I Wanna Dance With You" and "Leroy Faster".

"Good Bad Not Evil" perfectly encapsulates the disillusionment of mid-'00s America that reigned between warehouse parties, DIY generator shows and scattered party photos. The album was recorded in a small house in Atlanta that had been converted into a studio called the Living Room. Alluding to Shangri-Las in the title, this is where their knack for garage gems met Motown; with bass-heavy grooves (later remixed by Diplo), a certified country twang and unapologetic bravado. Instant hits like "Veni Vidi Vici", "Cold Hands", "Bad Kids" and "O Katrina!" became instant Black Lips classics. The band was in the eye of the storm, the tours continued, the parties never stopped, the band pushed the dirty boundaries of their chosen genre.
