Andrew Hill – Judgement! (Blue Note Classic Vinyl)

Blue Note producer Alfred Lion considered the pianist and composer Andrew Hill to be just as unique as Thelonious Monk and documented his music with rare passion. Although the albums on which Hill exclusively presented his own compositions were not among the label's bestsellers at the time, Lion had him record around a dozen between 1963 and 1970. "Judgment!" was created in 1964 during a particularly fruitful phase in which the pianist also recorded the albums "Black Fire", "Smoke Stack" and "Point of Departure" for Blue Note within just four months and always with the support of other innovative musicians.
