Wakin On A Pretty Daze – Kurt Vile (2xLP)

With "Wakin On A Pretty Daze" the man from Philadelphia manifests this status. The almost 70 minutes long album has what it takes to become a classic, building an elegant bridge between the sound of Tom Petty and that of Dinosaur Jr. This beauty was produced by John Agnello, as studio guests were Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint) and Jennifer Herrema (Royal Trux).

Jonathan Demme shot the video for the first single "Waking On A Pretty Day" in the tradition of the Springsteen video for "Streets Of Philadelphia". It shows the brittle and cordial charm of Kurt Vile's hometown; many songs on the album were influenced by her. Therefore it is only logical that the famous Philly Streetart artist Steve Powers (ESPO) designed the cover of the album.
