She was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1968 and began her career as an actress on the popular Australian soap opera, Neighbours. She began her singing career in 1987 with her debut single, “Locomotion”, which became a global hit and launched her career.

Her greatest hits album, Greatest Hits (1992), is her most successful album to date, achieving multi-platinum status. Her most successful albums from the 2000s include Fever (2001), Body Language (2003) and X (2007).
