Jungle

Jungle is a style of electronic music which originated in the United Kingdom during the early 1990s. It is a form of electronic dance music which combines the sounds of drum and bass, hardcore, ragga, and hip hop. It was initially heavily influenced by the early rave scene in the UK and is characterized by fast, syncopated breakbeat rhythms and bass lines. The use of sampling and sampling technology also heavily influenced the sound of jungle, and its emphasis on bass-heavy tracks is often credited with the development of dubstep.
