Synkronized is the fourth studio album by Jamiroquai, released in June 1999. The record finds the band leaning into slicker disco-funk and electronic textures while retaining the groove and flair that defined their earlier work. With the departure of bassist Stuart Zender mid-production and replacement by Nick Fyffe, the band re-recorded much of the material, resulting in an album that feels both polished and bold in its reinvention.
The music blends dancefloor ambition with musicality—hooks, horn lines, shimmering synths and tight rhythmic interplay coexist alongside soulful vocals from Jay Kay. Tracks like Canned Heat, Planet Home and Butterfly exemplify the album’s range: from high-energy anthems to mellow moments of introspective groove. The album balances accessibility with sophistication, making it a durable entry in Jamiroquai’s catalogue.
