MGMT fans have waited a full five years for this moment: With "Little Dark Age" the indietronic band from New York finally sends a new album into the race in 2018.
The last time the self-titled "MGMT" was released was in 2013.
Three singles already announced the new record: the typical electro-pop title track "Little Dark Age", the psychedelic-Britpoplasty "When You Die" and the unusually calm and dreamy "Hand It Over". MGMT have never been so playful and experimental.
And certainly the producers also contributed to the new versatility: Besides Andrew VanWyngarden, Ben Goldwasser and Co., Patrick Wimberly (Kelela, Blood Orange) and Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Tame Impala) sat at the desk.
MGMT present their most multi-faceted album to date in 2018. Here is "Little Dark Age".
Reviews
"After adventures in psychedelic land, the U.S. duo now succeeds in creating an almost exuberant synthpop marvel." (Rolling Stone)
