Allbarone is Baxter Dury’s ninth studio album, produced by Paul Epworth and released in September 2025 through Heavenly Recordings. The album marks a shift into more dance-inflected territory for Dury, pairing his sharp wit and sardonic lyricism with richer, more layered production. Epworth’s instrumental arrangements provide a broader sonic landscape — from pulsating beats to synth textures — while Dury’s distinctive voice remains front and centre, carving out memorable character sketches and moody, evocative vignettes throughout.
Critics have praised Allbarone as one of Dury’s most compelling works in years. Its immediacy and rhythmic drive have been highlighted, especially in contrast to some of his more minimalist predecessors. Guest vocals (notably by JGrrey) are used to striking effect, adding emotional depth and contrast. Overall, Allbarone is viewed as a bold, vibrant album that both builds on past strengths and explores new territory in sound and style.
