"Bridge Of Sighs", Robin Trower's second album after leaving Procol Harum, was critically acclaimed and was a commercial breakthrough, selling 3 million copies worldwide and taking Robin's original trio concept into exciting new territory.

He was accompanied by James Dewar on soulful vocals and bass and Reg Isidore, who underpinned his psychedelic blues sound with masterful drumming. Producer and former Procol Harum bandmate Matthew Fisher and Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick took over the control room and helped put together this impressive collection of songs.

50 years later, these new mixes were overseen by Robin and feature extended versions of the original album remixed from the original master tapes.

Trower hit the jackpot with his second solo record in 1974. The Record still sounds so fresh and unspent today that it is a real joy! Energetic songs such as "Day Of The Eagle" alternate with psychedelic-bluesy tracks like "Bridge Of Sighs" or "About To Begin". Strong vocals, great drums and Trower's ingenious guitar work make this record a pleasure to listen to. And of course Trower, the former guitarist of Procol Harum (until "Broken Barricades"), dominates the action here despite his accomplished comrades-in-arms, the man plays an absolutely hot guitar, sometimes you think "Good Old Jimi" has risen again! Everything sounds heavy and melancholy in a positive sense. Especially fans of the sound of Jimi Hendrix will get their money's worth here!

The album was produced by Matthew Fisher, his former band colleague from Procol "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" Harum, with none other than Beatles "sidekick" Geoff Emerick acting as sound engineer.
