  • Remastered from Original Tapes: "Vernal Equinox", released in 1978 on Lovely Music, was the first commercial Jon Hassell release and ranks among the 50 best ambient albums of all time according to Pitchfork.

    The trumpeter and musical visionary, together with Brazilian percussion legend Naná Vasconcelos and David Rosenboom on synthesizer, created a subtle blend of field recordings, electric jazz, ambient and world music influences.

    The result was quiet, meditative and of extraordinary beauty. The LP reissue is the first since release (42 years ago), the CD the first in 30 years, both formats with sleeve notes by Jon Hassell and Brian Eno.
