This second volume again pulls from across Ween’s recording life, assembling previously unreleased outtakes, rare B-sides, and fan favourites into one archival set. That broad sweep matters with Ween: few bands moved so comfortably between absurdist humour, sharp pop instincts, and deliberately strange detours.

What makes this collection especially appealing is that it is framed as more than a stopgap odds-and-ends release. The source material consistently points to a set that shows the full range of Ween’s songwriting, from left-turn arrangements to the kind of sharply defined ideas that made even their stray recordings memorable. Tracks such as “Kim Smoltz,” “Young Chou Lin,” and “The Argus, Pt. 2” hint at how wide that range can be, while the full selection spans different eras rather than one single session or stylistic phase.

For longtime listeners, Shinola: Vol. 2 opens the archive a little wider; for newer ones, it works as a reminder that Ween’s catalogue has always been bigger, stranger, and more varied than the studio albums alone suggest. As a brown-vinyl Black Friday edition through Rhino, it gives a coherent home to material that had been scattered, rare, or simply unavailable officially.

Format: LP

Units: 1

Genre:
          Punk & Alternative

A1 KIM SMOLTZ
A2 YOUNG CHOU LIN
A3 BRITNEY
A4 SHE CAUGHT MY FANCY
A5 ESSEX PLAZA
A6 KITE FLYING MAN
B1 MAKIN’ LOVE IN THE GRAVY
B2 PLANET FANTASY (HORSEFLY)
B3 OOH VAH LAH (SLUDGE VERSION)
B4 HELLO JOHNNY
C1 I WUZ NOTHING
C2 OPUS FUGUE TRILOGY
C3 THE ARGUS, PT. 2
C4 PINK SURPRISE
C5 FOR SO LONG
D1 SKYCRUISER
D2 PUT YOUR BOOBS ON
D3 THE CHANCY BOYS
D4 SHALOM ABSALOM
D5 YOU CAN GO SHIT IN YOUR HAT (MATT)
D6 WEED WHORE
D7 THE BELVODINE Reviews (No reviews yet) Write a Review

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1474/5258/files/1-ween-shinola-volume-2-brown-black-friday-record-store-day-2026-edition.webp?v=1792741552
