Released in 1981, it followed the huge success of Damn the Torpedoes and met the pressure with leaner, tougher songwriting and a colder edge beneath the melodies. Anchored by classics such as The Waiting, the album balances arena-sized choruses with the group’s tight, road-tested interplay. Tom Petty’s dry voice and deceptively direct lyrics give the record its bite, while the Heartbreakers keep the sound concise and muscular. It remains one of the band’s most admired early-’80s statements.

Artist: Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers

Label: MCA Records – VIM-6247

Format: LP, Album

Units: 1

Country: Japan

Released: 1981

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            Rock & Roll

A1 The Waiting
A2 A Woman In Love (It'S Not Me)
A3 Nightwatchman
A4 Something Big
A5 Kings Road
B1 Letting You Go
B2 A Thing About You
B3 Insider
B4 The Criminal Kind
B5 You Can Still Change Your Mind
