Tindersticks are an English alternative rock band formed in 1991. In 1993, they released their self-titled debut album, Tindersticks. In the 1990s, Tindersticks provided a counterpoint to the British indie scene and the Brit-pop sound that dominated the British charts with their dark, literary lyrics and melancholic orchestrations.This fourth album Simple Pleasures represents a change in sound for the band, towards lighter songs and new influences from soul, gospel and jazz music. A good example of the new direction is the reverent cover of Odyssey's If You're Looking For A Way Out.
