Issued in 1981, the album followed the band’s breakthrough and broadened their sound with brighter melodies, layered keyboards and an art-rock restlessness that set them apart from many early-’80s peers. Songs such as Pure Joy and Passionate Friend helped define its appeal, balancing immediacy with eccentric detail. The record strengthened the band’s reputation as one of the most distinctive acts to emerge from the post-punk era, where ambition and accessibility rarely sat so naturally together.

Artist: The Teardrop Explodes

Label: Mercury, Zoo Records – 6359 056

Format: LP, Album

Units: 1

Country: UK

Released: 1981

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            New Wave

A1 Bent Out Of Shape
A2 Colours Fly Away
A3 Seven Views Of Jerusalem
A4 Pure Joy
A5 Falling Down Around Me
A6 The Culture Bunker
B1 Passionate Friend
B2 Tiny Children
B3 Like Leila Khaled Said
B4 ...And The Fighting Takes Over
B5 The Great Dominions
