Built around Sharleen Spiteri's vocals and a blend of rock, pop, and blues-leaning guitar work, it is the record that first established Texas as more than a one-single success story.

The album includes the breakout hit 'I Don't Want A Lover' alongside 'Everyday Now' and 'Thrill Has Gone', showing the balance of big, melodic singles and more reflective material that helped the record travel well beyond the UK. Contemporary sources note sales of more than 2 million worldwide, with Platinum awards in Australia, France, Spain and Switzerland, and Gold in the Netherlands as well as the UK.

This white-vinyl edition also gives Southside a little extra interest for collectors: it was cut from the original analogue tapes at Abbey Road Studios, and it adds 'Faith' to the vinyl running order for the first time. That makes it a strong way back into a debut that still sounds confident, polished and surprisingly assured for a first album.

Features

White Vinyl

Cut from the original analogue tapes at Abbey Road Studios

'Faith' featured on the vinyl LP for the first time

Reviews

Intelligent, tuneful adult pop with terrific female vocals and bluesy slide guitar work. - AllMusic.com

Artist: Texas

Label: [pias]

Format: LP

Units: 1

Country: Europe

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            Pop Rock

A1 I Don'T Want A Lover
A2 Tell Me Why
A3 Everyday Now
A4 Southside
A5 Prayer For You
A6 Faith
B1 Thrill Has Gone
B2 Fight The Feeling
B3 Fool For Love
B4 One Choice
B5 Future Is Promises

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1474/5258/files/texas-southside-lp-white-vinyl-a__62265.1760243970.jpg?v=1793866216
