The Firstborn Is Dead – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
by BMG, Mute
Condition: Brand New
Although "First Born is Dead" was recorded in the Hansa Studio in Berlin, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds deal on their second album with themes that play in the southern states of the USA. First and foremost is the single "Tupelo", which deals with the birth of Elvis Presley and his twin brother Jesse Garon .
Musically very reduced and significantly influenced by the blues, passages by John Lee Hooker and Blind Lemon Jefferson are taken over. And even Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash are quoted in Wanted Man. On release, the album split the critics, but now the audience understands the "Southern Gothic" impact of the work. Nick's vinyl editions were sold out for a long time and were traded as rarities .
In October the film "20.000 Days on Earth" starts, a documentary film about the life and work of Nick Cave.
