Rather than a routine greatest-hits set, it pulls together 13 tracks from across Mogwai’s catalogue while adding new material that places the compilation firmly in the present.

The key draw is “Underground,” a new 2026 collaboration with Iggy Pop that finally gives a physical release to a pairing fans had long hoped for. Elsewhere, the set reaches beyond familiar favourites with a previously digital-only single and a newly reworked version of “New Paths to Helicon 1,” retitled “Brand New Paths to Helicon 1.” That version features the Budapest Art Orchestra and orchestration by Adam Wiltzie, whose work with A Winged Victory For The Sullen and Stars Of The Lid makes him a neat fit for Mogwai’s widescreen, emotional instrumentals.

The track selection sketches a concise history of the band, moving from early touchstones like “Yes! I Am A Long Way from Home” to later standouts such as “Remurdered” and “Ritchie Sacramento.” For anyone coming fresh to Mogwai, it’s a smart overview of how their sound has stretched from bruising post-rock to more melodic, electronic and orchestral territory without losing its sense of atmosphere.

Features

2xLP, Yellow & Black Vinyl, 30th Anniversary Edition

13 tracks across one black and one yellow record

Includes “Underground” with Iggy Pop

Includes “Brand New Paths to Helicon 1” with the Budapest Art Orchestra, orchestrated by Adam Wiltzie

Format: LP

Units: 2

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

LP - SIDE
A1 Yes!
