Cut in Paris in 1957 for Louis Malle’s noir film, the sessions are famous for Davis improvising to screen while working with French jazz musicians including Barney Wilen, René Urtreger, Pierre Michelot and Kenny Clarke. The result helped redefine film scoring with a brooding, understated mood that pointed towards modal jazz and the freer, more atmospheric language Miles would develop in the following years. Its spare trumpet lines and nocturnal tension have made it one of the great crossover jazz recordings of the era.

Artist: Miles Davis

Label: Pan Am Records – 9152306

Format: LP, Album, Reissue

Units: 1

Country: Europe

Released: 2019

Genre:
          Jazz

Style:

            Hard Bop

A1 Générique
A2 L'Assassinat De Carala
A3 Sur L'Autoroute
A4 Julien Dans L'Ascenseur
A5 Florence Sur Les Champs-Elysées
A6 Dîner Au Motel
A7 Evasion De Julien
A8 Visite Du Vigile
A9 Au Bar Du Petit Bac
A10 Chez Le Photographe Du Motel
B1 On Green Dolphin Street
B2 Fran-Dance
B3 Stella By Starlight
