Melvins – Stag
One of the most famous and influential American rock bands - The Melvins - recorded their 8th studio album with Stag in 1996. The sound of the new material was completely different from anything they had recorded before, as the band was exploring different, for them new, areas of music at that time.
Even the first notes of the album opener The Bit make it clear that they were experimenting with a confrontation of sitar-drone sounds with King Buzzo guitar riffs. The album also contains prog-based musical approaches, as can be heard in the epic Buck Owens. The whole track listing is a sounding hell ride from sludge metal and experimental grunge to blues rock and pop.
The Bar-X and The Rocking M. Melvin's guitarist Buzz Osborne and drummer Dale Crover have created numerous influential pieces in the course of the band's career up to the present day. The variety of different musical styles they explored during this time brought you many fans among the followers of various music genres.
