The album followed the Melbourne band’s early-1970s rise and showed a group willing to stretch beyond straightforward hard rock into more elaborate arrangements and changes of pace. Songs such as “Mother Ship” and the title track point to the band’s interest in surreal imagery, driving rhythms and larger-scale composition, while the record’s mix of heft and tunefulness gives it enduring appeal. For listeners exploring Australian progressive rock, Butterfly Farm remains one of the scene’s notable mid-70s releases.

Artist:  Madder Lake

Label:  Mushroom – L 35090

Format:  LP, Album

Units:  1

Country:  Australia

Released:   1974

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            Prog Rock

A1 Rodney'S Birthday
A2 Mother Ship
A3 Booze Blues
A4 Ride On Fast
B1 One Star And The Moon
B2 Butterfly Farm
B3 Slack Alice
B4 Back Seat Song

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1474/5258/files/Ny5qcGVn_thVNplp_a4002a97-cd37-4831-abfd-87ccd2a245c2.jpg?v=1787998478
