Kadavar – Kadavar

So first of all: more Black Sabbath influence is not possible. Surely there are all the others, Led Zeppelin, Hawkwind, Witchfinder General, the important ones, the good ones, they are all there, and sometimes you forget that you are listening to a contemporary trio from Berlin. If you read it that way, you might be afraid that you might get bored listening to it, because you "already know" and "that's what many people do"
The nice thing about Kadavar, however, is that the sound is implemented through hectolitres of heart and soul. You can't really play that stuff on that level unless you love that shit, man. When you listen to it, you automatically get very long, straight hair, at least a moustache, but if you're not careful, it's a real one, and you suddenly have a lot of big rings on both hands. And fur collars and bell-bottoms on. The Ludwig drums sound so cool and dry, because it's a Ludwig drum set, bass and guitar are mostly on one side (!) each in the panorama, which is a lot of fun with headphones. So on the left side Grease, on the right side Fuzz, everything is booming and booming, a lot of reverb on the necessary doubled space vocals, you can fly away completely. Wonderful. The trio is well and crisply attuned to each other, it is sung by Wizards and Lucifer of course and Mountains, and how one can be so deep in the matter nowadays is actually not quite clear to me, but I like it very much! By the way, the guys are called Lindemann, Mammoth and Tiger. No, I have no special wishes anymore!
