Released in 1981, the album blends Garbarek’s keening saxophone, Abercrombie’s spacious guitar and Vasconcelos’s highly inventive percussion into music that feels both meditative and exploratory. Its impact lies in the way the trio turn folk-like melodies and open improvisation into a coherent, atmospheric whole, balancing Nordic cool with rhythmic warmth and improvisational risk. The record stands as a fine example of ECM’s early-1980s sound, where clarity, space and musicianship were as expressive as the notes themselves.

Artist: John Abercrombie, Jan Garbarek, Naná Vasconcelos

Label: ECM Records – ECM 1200

Format: LP, Album, Stereo

Units: 1

Country: Germany

Released: 1981

Genre:
          Jazz

Style:

            Contemporary Jazz

A1 Soria Maria
A2 Lillekort
A3 Eventyr
A4 Weaving A Garland
B1 Once Upon A Time
B2 The Companion
B3 Snipp, Snapp, Snute
B4 East Of The Sun And West Of The Moon
