Description

It's been four years since Interpol's last release. But 2018 finally brings what indie rock fans have been waiting for so long: the new album "Marauder", the highly anticipated follow-up to "El Pintor" (2014).

The title "Marauder" translates roughly as "plunderer". The work on the songs took place in the New York rehearsal room of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Dave Fridmann, a real professional, took care of the production. He worked in the past for artists like Spoon, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Mogwai, Tame Impala, Baroness and many more.

With the first single "The Rover" Paul Banks and his men have already shown in advance that they have not lost their talent for content-strong lyrics, their creativity and their very personal post-punk indie rock sound.

By the way, the cover of the new album shows a photograph of the former US Secretary of Justice by Elliot Richardson. The latter resigned from office in 1973 when he was supposed to fire Watergate special investigator Archibald Cox on orders from President Nixon, but refused to do so.

This is the album the rock year 2018 has been waiting for: "Marauder" by Interpol.

Reviews
"A rumbling rock noir that has something cinematic, manically intense, at times hypnotic about it that sets the imagination ablaze and works like adrenaline." (Audio, September 2018)
