Masin, a Venetian composer and pianist, shaped the album from a distinctive mix of minimal piano, free-classical drift and Balearic new age, giving it a hushed, dreamlike character that still feels unusual decades later.

What makes Wind so absorbing is its balance of fragility and space. The arrangements are sparse but never empty, built from gentle melodic lines, soft-focus textures and an atmosphere that often feels nocturnal and slightly uncanny. “The Wind Song” is a good example of that suspended mood, while the album as a whole moves with the calm, inward pace of music heard somewhere between waking and dreaming.

It has come to be regarded as a defining record in Masin’s catalogue, and this edition underlines that history rather than dressing it up. Numero Group’s presentation preserves the original artwork lineage, using the Bear In Heaven issue’s iconography in reflective silver foil on a tip-on jacket. For anyone curious about the softer, more meditative edge of Italian ambient music, Wind remains a singular place to start.

Features

Black Vinyl, 40th Anniversary Edition

Restored and remastered audio

Tip-on jacket with reflective silver foil and original Bear In Heaven iconography

Format: LP

Units: 1

Genre:
          Electronic

1.
