Under the leadership of the legendary masterminds George Clinton, FUNKADELIC were a key element in the realm of P-Funk.
The unique combination of rock, psychedelic and soul made it easy for the band to tap into the pop mainstream, build an international fan base and become one of the most important bands in the evolution of funk.
One Nation Under A Groove" is considered to be a timeless masterpiece of funk and was produced at the United Sound Studio in Detroit and features a live track recorded in April 1978 at their show at the Monroe Civic Center in Louisiana.
As the band's tenth album, it was also their most commercially successful and produced an international hit (number 1 in the US R&B charts) with the title track.
FUNKADELIC had already made a name for themselves with their eccentric cartoon artwork anyway - "One Nation Under A Groove" remains one of their most memorable creations with guitarist Michael Hampton at the absolute height of his skills.
