Released in 1985, the album captured the group after Lionel Richie’s departure, leaning into polished soul, smooth vocals and a more reflective mood while still retaining their tight musicianship. The title song became a major hit and a poignant tribute to Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson, helping the band reach a new generation of listeners. Elsewhere, the record balances upbeat funk and adult contemporary soul, showing how the Commodores adapted their sound without losing their identity.

Artist: Commodores

Label: Motown – ZL72343

Format: LP, Album, Stereo

Units: 1

Country: Europe

Released: 1985

Genre:
          Soul & Funk

Style:

            Rhythm & Blues,

            Synth-Pop

A1 Animal Instinct
A2 Nightshift
A3 I Keep Running
A4 Lay Back
B1 Slip Of The Tongue
B2 Play This Record Twice
B3 Janet
B4 The Woman In My Life
B5 Lightin' Up The Night
