Released in 1972, the album was arranged and conducted by Sy Johnson from Mingus’s compositions, giving the music a vivid orchestral sweep while keeping his raw rhythmic personality at the centre. Pieces such as The Shoes Of The Fisherman’s Wife Are Some Jive Ass Slippers and The I of Hurricane Sue show Mingus balancing humour, lyricism and explosive ensemble writing. Long regarded as one of his essential later works, it captures the breadth of his imagination in large-scale form.

Artist:  Charles Mingus

Label:  Columbia – KC 31039

Format:  LP, Album

Units:  1

Country:  US

Released:   1972

Genre:
          Jazz

Style:

            Avant-Garde Jazz,

            Big Band

A1 The Shoes Of The Fisherman'S Wife Are Some Jive Ass Slippers
A2 Adagio Ma Non Troppo
A3 Don'T Be Afraid, The Clown'S Afraid Too
B1 Hobo Ho
B2 The Chill Of Death
B3 The I Of Hurricane Sue

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1474/5258/files/My05ODY1LmpwZWc_fe9bea57-5cf2-4724-9cdb-0301354c89fd.jpg?v=1792394380
