The album builds on the band’s distinctive mix of smoky vocals, brass colour and rhythmic drive, with interpretations and originals that move between torch-song tension, modern electric blues and cool jazz atmosphere. Its version of classics such as Stormy Weather and Willow Weep for Me underlines how confidently Carmel reworked familiar material, while the title track and I Thought I Was Going Mad show the group’s own personality. As part of the early-1980s British jazz-pop crossover, it helped establish Carmel as one of the era’s more unusual and arresting acts.

Artist: Carmel

Label: Liberation Records – LIB-5036

Format: LP, Album

Units: 1

Country: Australia

Released: 1984

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            Cool Jazz,

            Modern Electric Blues,

            Soul-Jazz

A1 More, More, More
A2 Stormy Weather
A3 The Drum Is Everything
A4 I Thought I Was Going Mad
A5 The Prayer
B1 Rockin' On Suicide
B2 Rue St Denis (Version)
B3 Willow Weep For Me
B4 Tracks Of My Tears
B5 Bad Day
