  • Amen Dunes is the project of New Yorker Damon McMahon. "Freedom" is his 5th album and the successor of the 2014 released Love ("an intimate work of mystery" (Pitchfork). To create Freedom, McMahon assembled an energetic team of collaborators and old friends.

    Besides the regular band members like Parker Kindred (Antony & The Johnsons, Jeff Buckley) on drums, Chris Coady (Beach House) joined as producer and Delicate Steve on guitar. This is the first Amen Dunes album which, with the help of underground musician Panoram from Rome, is based on the electronic influences of the young McMahon.

    Most of the songs were recorded at Electric Lady in New York and then completed at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, where McMahon, Nick Zinner and session bassist Gus Seyffert (Beck, Bedouine) worked out the recordings.
