Botch – We Are The Romans (2xLP)

Influential cult classic reissued! The second and final album "We Are the Romans" by legendary mathcore/hardcore/metal band Botch from Tacoma, Washington, was originally released in 1999 and became one of the most groundbreaking albums during a pivotal period in heavy music

Now the band's seminal album is being reissued and features "One Twenty Two," the band's first new song in over 20 years. The band never intended to release anything else, but when guitarist David Knudson set out to write his first solo LP, it made sense. He explains, "During Covid, I wrote my first solo LP, and mentally I was tired of everything in quarantine. There had been a lot of frustration at home, and I thought the best way to deal with it was to write something heavy. I had no intention of writing anything for Botch, but when I was thinking about a singer to collaborate with, I thought, 'Hey, I know the best hardcore singer ever who could be up for this,' so I contacted Dave V. He was super excited, and things snowballed from there. There was never any intention or conversation about getting back together or writing. It just came together so naturally and was a great relief for all of us, without the usual pressures that an 'active' band faces." Bassist Brian Cook, guitarist David Knudson, drummer Tim Latona and vocalist Dave Verellen formed Botch in 1993 and went on to become one of the most important bands of their time. Their last concert took place on June 15, 2002, the same day that their last EP, "An Anthology of Dead Ends," was released

The members later played in These Arms Are Snakes, Minus the Bear and Russian Circles, among others, and the band gained recognition especially after its breakup. "We Are the Romans" became one of the most influential albums of the genre and was posthumously praised by all sides
