The MFSL One-Step Reissue shows the amazing dynamic and tonal qualities of the master tapes and is a lot of fun. This one-step LP has a circulation of 7,500 copies.

The One-Step-LP-Boxes from MFSL are the measure of all things in the field of audiophile re-issues and are qualitatively still above the other productions of the probably most famous remastering studio in the world. Especially on the LPs is not only a new vinyl granulate without carbon colorant, which is used at RTI in Camarillo, but above all the one-step process of LP production. You can only get closer to the sound of the master tape in MFSL's studio in California.

This is understood to mean the following: In normal LP productions, the lacquer cut is transformed into a first "father stamp with inverted groove structure". A "mother stamp" with the correct groove structure is then created from this. From this, the actual press punch with inverted groove structure is then created and used for pressing the actual LP with correct groove structure. This approach makes it possible to press almost any number of LPs with only one lacquer cut.

In the one-step process, all this is done much more easily. The actual lacquer cut itself is converted directly to the press stamp with which the LP is produced. Two steps of the mechanical conversion are thus omitted. Unfortunately, each lacquer cut can only produce a limited number of LPs. So if more than a few hundred LPs are to be produced, a corresponding number of lacquer cuts are required. MFSL has issued the motto that a new set of press stamps should be inserted every 500 copies. This means that with a print run of 7,000 copies, fourteen sets of the four coating cuts are  used.

However, as things can sometimes go wrong in production, 64 lacquer cuts are created for the double LP 64 in a half-speed mastering process from the master tape. By hand, one at a time. Every day, the created paint cuts are flown by express to RTI for reworking, and then a test press must be created for each page and also listened to in MFSL's studio.

This is a time-consuming and also expensive process that leads to an expensive product and high collector demand

The delivery takes place in an elaborate box. The serial number is entered manually on the back. MFSL declares that there will be no further subsequent pressing. The prices for the previous releases of this series on eBay make music lovers blush with shame.
