Thundercat is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer from Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work with Flying Lotus, contributing to multiple albums, as well as his own solo projects. He has been releasing music since 2011 and has collaborated with a wide variety of artists, from Kendrick Lamar to Kamasi Washington.

Thundercat's breakthrough came with his third album, Drunk (2017), which featured appearances from many notable artists, including Flying Lotus, Kenny Loggins, and Michael McDonald. The album was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards. His fourth album, It Is What It Is (2020), was nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
