The Fall

The Fall is an English post-punk band formed in 1976 by singer and songwriter Mark E. Smith. The band has released thirty-one studio albums, and numerous singles, live albums and compilations.

The Fall's first two albums, Live at the Witch Trials and Dragnet, are regarded as pioneering post-punk albums. Their 1985 album This Nation's Saving Grace is considered one of the band's greatest works. The album's single "Cruiser's Creek" was also a hit in the UK.

The band's 1989 album I Am Kurious Oranj was their first collaboration with the avant-garde ballet troupe, The Lorraine Jones Dance Company. The album spawned the single "Hit the North", which was a top-30 hit in the UK.

The Fall's 2006 album Reformation Post TLC was critically acclaimed, and spawned the singles "Over! Over!" and "Midnight in Aspen".

One interesting fact about The Fall is that Mark E. Smith is the only original member of the band to remain with the group throughout its entire history. He has been the sole constant member since the band's inception in 1976.
