Studio One Scorcher – Various

Condition: Brand New
Ships from: Melbourne

This could well be the best in the series, hard to believe after the glorious delights of the Soul, Roots, Rockers and DJ's volumes, the kindly Soul Jazz have obtained a compilation from Mark Ainley which unleashes some absolute foundation music on an expectant public.

Vinyl furtlers will recognize some of tunes from the "Tuffest" white bagged lp, not the least Karl Bryan and Count Ossie's after hours genius on "Black Up". There's a dubplate only mix of "Last Call" and best of all, one of the first ever Studio One twelve inch, "Shockers Rock", Tommy McCook, Richard Ace, The Skatalites and Disco Height really turning the pressure up with the deranged oriental melody mutating into a rampant rhythm piece of dubwise ska. Worth price of admission alone, and unfortunately, another beyond essential piece of Soul Jazz, mining the seam which will be forever Clement Coxsone Dodd.
