Primus

Primus is an American rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area that formed in 1984. The band is composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Tim Alexander. Claypool and LaLonde have been the only two constant members of the band. Primus's music is known for its quirky, irreverent lyrical style, and their fusion of funk, prog rock, thrash metal, and other genres.

Primus's most popular albums include Sailing the Seas of Cheese (1991), Pork Soda (1993), and Tales from the Punchbowl (1995). Standout songs from the albums include "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver", "My Name is Mud", and "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver".

An interesting fact about Primus is that they have performed live with a puppet named "Wiz Kid" that was created by the band's bassist Les Claypool.
