RINSE – Wherever I Am

Following time spent co-writing and collaborating with Hatchie and other early musical projects, Wherever I Am is the first solo body of work from Agius, who debuted as RINSE in early 2020 with Tell Me Tell Me Tell Me. The track was widely praised, with The FADER describing it as “a shimmering and soaring post-punk plea for sanity” and Purple Sneakers declaring "this first release paints an exciting picture of what might be still to come and we can’t wait to see what comes next."

Agius says, “‘Wherever I Am’ is a compilation of songs recorded over the past few years across many different places. They serve as a sonic bedrock for what RINSE represents, and a place I’m excited to build upon. Each song represents a different moment of my development as a solo artist, from finding my voice to digging deeper in lyricism, as well as honing my own skills in recording and production.”

A true labour of love, Agius’ singular aesthetic is evidenced across every aspect of Wherever I Am, from the music to the artwork and the videos for Back Into Your Arms (feat. Hatchie) and Tamaryn (Wherever I Am), both of which he self-directed.

Across six tracks, a rotating cast of collaborators bring Agius’ sonic visions to life. Influenced by artists like New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Cure and Pale Saints, RINSE’s dreamy, reverb-laden sound cherrypicks from post-punk, shoegaze and new-wave.
