Muddy Waters
Muddy Waters (1913-1983) was an American blues musician whose real name was McKinley Morganfield. He is often considered the "Father of Chicago Blues".
Muddy Waters started his music career playing in the Mississippi Delta. He then moved to Chicago in 1943 and started playing amplified blues in the city's clubs. His unique style and powerful voice quickly earned him a record deal with Chess Records.
Muddy Waters’ most successful albums include “The Best of Muddy Waters” (1959), “Electric Mud” (1968), and “Hard Again” (1977). His most popular songs include “Hoochie Coochie Man” (1954), “Mannish Boy” (1955), and “Got My Mojo Working” (1959).
An interesting fact about Muddy Waters is that he was the first blues musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
