Released in 1968, it helped bridge acid-rock looseness with the emerging hard rock sound, giving the band a lasting place in rock history. The album contrasts driving numbers such as Most Anything You Want and Are You Happy with the hypnotic, extended instrumental passages of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, whose memorable groove became one of the era’s defining radio and album-cut moments. Its commercial success made Iron Butterfly a household name and turned the album into a reference point for psychedelic excess and ambition.

Genre: Pop & Issued in 1970, it captures the group leaning into extended improvisation, muscular riffs and the organ-driven sound that made them one of the era’s loudest and most recognisable acts. Built around long-form performances rather than concise singles, the album reflects the excess and ambition of the live rock circuit at the turn of the decade. It also gives their biggest anthem, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, a new concert context, underlining why the song became such a durable marker of psychedelic rock.

Artist: Iron Butterfly

Label: Atlantic – SD 33-318

Format: LP, Album, Reissue

Units: 1

Country: Australia

Released: 1970

Genre:
          Pop & Rock

Style:

            Hard Rock,

            Psychedelic Rock

A1 In The Time Of Our Lives
A2 Filled With Fear
A3 Soul Experience
A4 You Can'T Win
A5 Are You Happy
B1 In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
