George Harrison was a British musician, singer, songwriter and film producer who was the lead guitarist of the Beatles. He was born on February 25th, 1943 in Liverpool, England. He was the youngest of four children. Harrison began playing guitar at the age of 13 and became a key figure in the Beatles. He wrote many of their most popular songs including "Something," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Here Comes the Sun," and "Taxman."

Harrison's solo career began in 1970, following the break-up of the Beatles. He released his first solo album, All Things Must Pass, in 1970 and it was an instant success. The album featured the hit single "My Sweet Lord" and was followed by Living in the Material World (1973), Dark Horse (1974) and Extra Texture (1975). His most successful solo album was Cloud Nine (1987), which featured the hit singles "Got My Mind Set on You" and "When We Was Fab."

Harrison's other noteworthy albums include The Concert for Bangladesh (1972) and Brainwashed (2002). He was also involved in the film industry, producing and acting in films such as Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) and Time Bandits (1981).

An interesting fact about George Harrison is that he was a devotee of Hinduism and was a member of the Hare Krishna movement. He was also a vegetarian and an animal rights activist.
