George Duke

George Duke was an American musician, composer, singer-songwriter, producer and actor. He was born in San Rafael, California in 1946 and passed away in 2013. He was a multi-instrumentalist and worked in many genres including jazz, soul, R&B, funk, fusion and pop.

Some of George Duke's most famous albums include Reach for It (1977), A Brazilian Love Affair (1980), Dream On (1988) and Illusions (1993). His standout songs include "Brazilian Love Affair" (1980), "Reach for It" (1977) and "Shine On" (1991).

An interesting fact about George Duke is that he won a Grammy Award in 1984 for his production work on the album "Stompin' at the Savoy" by the jazz musician Benny Goodman. He also won a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 from the Los Angeles Jazz Society.
