The Incredible Bongo Band – Bongo Rock

The Incredible Bongo Band was invented for a movie in 1972 by MGM manager Michael Viner and landed some hits with their funky instrumentals, which were later often sampled. Their cover of the Shadows hit "Apache" can be found on songs by Missy Elliot, Coldcut, Will Smith, Goldie, Jurassic 5, Moby, Run DMC, Sugarhill Gang, Beastie Boys and Massive Attack, among others. "Bongo Rock" contains the only two albums of the "band": "Bongo Rock" (1973) and "The Return Of The Incredible Bongo Band" (1974).
