Free Jazz
Free Jazz is a style of jazz that emerged in the 1950s as an extension of bebop. It is characterized by an emphasis on collective improvisation, a lack of adherence to standard chord progressions, and an avoidance of traditional musical structures. It is an open-ended style of music that allows for great freedom of expression, often incorporating elements of different genres and styles. Free Jazz is heavily influenced by the blues and African American music, as well as European music from the 20th century. Free Jazz has been embraced by a wide variety of musicians and continues to be a major influence in jazz today.
