Dudley Moore Trio Vinyl Records

The Dudley Moore Trio was a British jazz trio founded in 1972, consisting of pianist and composer Dudley Moore, bassist Colin Hodgkinson, and drummer Chris Karan. The trio became one of the most popular and successful British jazz acts of the 1970s and '80s.

The group released several albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1972, and the follow-up albums Be Mine Tonight (1973) and A Bit of Moore (1976). Their most successful album was 1979’s Bedazzled, which featured the hit single “Love Is the Sweetest Thing”, which became a UK Top 40 hit. Other standout albums included Boogie Woogie 77 (1977) and Bedazzled Again (1982).

The trio also released several live albums, including Live in London (1974), Live in Paris (1976) and Live in Concert (1980). They were also featured on several compilation albums, including the compilation album The Best of Dudley Moore Trio (1987).

The trio’s most popular songs include “Love Is the Sweetest Thing”, “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square”, “Bedazzled” and “One For My Baby (And One More For The Road)”.

An interesting fact about the Dudley Moore Trio is that they were the first British jazz group to play at the White House. In 1979, they were invited to perform at the White House for President Jimmy Carter’s inauguration.
