Delta Blues
Delta Blues is a style of blues music that originated in the Mississippi Delta region of the United States in the early 20th century. It is characterized by its use of a slide guitar and a deep, plaintive vocal style. It is often associated with rural African-American culture, and its lyrics often reflect themes of poverty, hard times, and despair. It is also known for its improvisational style and its influence on later blues, jazz, and rock and roll music. Delta Blues has its roots in the field hollers and spirituals of the early African-American community in the Mississippi Delta. In the 1930s and 1940s, Delta Blues was popularized by artists such as Robert Johnson, Son House, and Charlie Patton, and it has since been adapted by many other musicians, including Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones.
